The day is gone
The night is home
I pray and mourn
And wait alone
My saviour said
That this would be
His own they fled
Betrayed for me
He went alone
To Calvary
Went for his own
Upon that Tree
And why should I
Not follow He
Who bled and died
So we could see
I must obey
And be like him
Who bore away
Our sin so grim
And rising hence
He rose above
To heaven whence
Will come with love
I must await
That final day
He be not late
I must but stay
I be not fey
Though it be night
To see the day
Of his great might
When coming here
With fearsome power
I will not fear
That final hour
For though he bring
Our judgment too
But as my King
I will be new
And with him dawn
And our great home
Night will be gone
Day will be shown
