Why worry?

Beyond belief—
Beyond knowing, and knowledge not trust,
God is—our God.
Nothing is, there is nothing we can do,
But by Him, and through Him, and to Him.

Nothing independently, everything dependently—
There is no independent existence.
Nowhere to go, nothing to do, no thing without Him or not in Him.
He animates all things—directly and indirectly.

Why worry? Why do I worry?
All things, all works, all ends are His.
He is the source and the means, and the destiny.
Willingly or unwillingly, willed or not, desire or no, He knows—

I am more than hemmed in, behind and before,
Within and without, above and beyond,
Beneath my doubt and all I adore—
He upholds all of time and every single moment of mine.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
Too wonderful for comprehension.
Needless, I need not concern myself with needs.
My Shepherd is our God; I shall not want.

Like a weaned child, I am content.
My mother is my Father and my Comforter.
My Lord is my Saviour and Counsellor.
His Spirit fills me to will and to act according to His will.

Why worry? Why do I worry?
My God has made me His servant, His friend, His son.
To me a child is born, to me a Son is given—
And the government is on His shoulders.

Surely, that is enough.
Surely, that is sufficient for me.
Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of His government and of peace,
There will be no end,
From this time forth,
And forevermore.
